About the event
World Parkinson's Day, observed annually on April 11th, commemorates the birthday of Dr. James Parkinson, who first recognized Parkinson's as a medical condition in 1817, and was established in 1997 by the European Parkinson's Disease Association (EPDA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness and advocate for better care.
This is a global moment to shine a spotlight on Parkinson's and bring the community together. This is your chance to be a Parkinson's advocate and create a greater understanding of the challenges people with Parkinson's and their loved ones face every day.

Engage in Conversations. Talk to friends, family, and colleagues about Parkinson's and the importance of supporting research and awareness efforts.
Offer Practical Help. Offer to help with errands, give them a ride to/from a support group or exercise class, or assist with other tasks that may be challenging for them.
Share Information. Educate yourself and others…
