As a non-profit organization, we need funds desperately. We are currently seeking funds, to assist patients and care partners and accomplish our mission. We are seeking donations for our Endowment Fund that will be matched by a donation from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. Any funds designated for research will be appropriated in that way.
Parkinson's Group of the Ozarks Endowment Fund
Established in honor of William K. Powell
Administered by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks
When you are looking for a way to perpetuate the services of the Parkinson's Group of the Ozarks, remember this fund.
In 2001 Great Southern Savings Bank, upon the event of William K. Powell's retirement from his many years of service on their Board of Directors, designated a gift to charity in the amount of $2,500 that Mr. Powell directed to the establishing of an endowment fund at the Community Foundation on behalf of the Parkinson's Group. This was done with the understanding that the Parkinson's Group would increase the fund to $10,000 through gifts from other friends. At that time the Community Foundation would match the original $10,000, bringing it to $20,000, from its undesignated pool of funds.
In 2002, we were advised that the $10,000 had been reached and the matching funds had been added to the endowment.
Though this is a perpetual, irrevocable fund whose principle cannot be spent, the Parkinson's Group will be the recipient of an annual check representing the earnings of the fund, to be used at the discretion of the Parkinson's Group Board to help achieve it's mission.
